CALIFORNIA SKIPPER
An experienced offshore racer, London-born Pete has recently been devoting his time to sail training. He will take a break from running his own sailing school in Cape Town, South Africa, where he now lives with his wife and young son, in order to skipper California in Clipper 09-10.
Pete learned to sail, aged eight, when he joined the local sailing school after his father built him a small dinghy, Bumble Bee. Stung by the sailing bug he has since dedicated himself to learning everything he can about the sport and has racked up more than 75,000 miles on a range of different yachts, competing in many offshore races.
