

This will be the second time the region has fielded an entry, having finished second overall on the team’s first outing in Clipper 07-08. The yacht forms the centrepiece of a campaign by regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward, to drive inward investment and tourism to Hull, East Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire.
After the incredible send off from the Humber, Hull & Humber have progressed nicely. Aiming to go one better than Clipper 07-08, track their progress here through their diaries, photos and videos sent directly from the boat.
HULL & HUMBER SKIPPER
Brighton based Justin, took over as skipper of Hull & Humber after Piers Dudin suffered a broken leg when he was washed down the deck in a Pacific Ocean storm. The popular skipper was taken to hospital in Japan thanks to help from the Japanese coastguard and is now recuperating at home in the UK. He expects to be reunited with his team when they arrive back in to Hull at the race finish on July 17th.
Justin took over command of Hull & Humber in San Francisco and said “I’ve got a lot to live up to as I’m taking over from a very experienced and well respected skipper.
