Introducing you to Big Boat Racing and Offshore Sailing.

During Level 2 you will continue to develop your sailing and seamanship skills. However, the main focus of the week will be speed and racing techniques.

This course introduces key racing skills, asymmetric spinnakers and boat to boat communication. The main focus of the week will be on boat speed.

At Level 2 you will progress to the bigger, more powerful Clipper 70s, the yachts on which you will race around the world. The primary focus of the course is to develop your key racing skills, placing an emphasis on boat speed and efficient manoeuvres at all times, testing your ability to work and live as a team. Asymmetric spinnaker techniques are a major part of the course, along with extensive sail trim sessions where you will learn how to maximise the speed of the boat. You will undertake emergency drills such as man overboard as well as spend a day focusing on sea survival techniques, further promoting you and your crew’s safety at sea.

As with Level 1 this is a challenging course and will consist primarily of offshore sailing. Weather permitting, most of your time will be spent in the open waters of the English Channel and beyond, experiencing and managing the challenges that life offshore presents.
