The Chairman of Clipper Ventures Plc and creator of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race wrote a gripping blog that became cult reading while he sailed single handedly around the world during the VELUX 5 OCEANS race.
He returned from that race in May, but continues his blog, with his thoughts and comments about what the crew will be experiencing on this 07-08 race. Read More
Story So Far
The first Clipper Race set off around the world in 1996, with a fleet of eight 60-foot yachts named after the original tea clippers.
These boats completed four circumnavigations of the globe, then for the fifth race, Clipper 05-06, a new fleet of 68ft ocean race yachts were designed and built. It is these ten boats that are competing in the 07-08 race. Read More

Each of the five previous races have been hotly contested and the final results show how close a match this can be.

The Yacht
The fleet of ten Clipper 68s are designed by Ed Dubois and built by Double Happiness Yacht Co Ltd in China and have already completed a full circumnavigation, so they are thoroughly tried and tested.
They are eight feet longer and some three tonnes lighter than the first fleet, so are much faster and exciting to sail. Read More
