The Owl and the Pussy Cat take 2
04 November 2007
...without actually any owls or pussy cats what so ever!
The crew of the Glasgow went to sea
In a beautiful shiny black boat,
They took some mustard but not enough custard
To satisfy needs whilst afloat.
The skipper piped up “without further ado
Could you change that oversized sail!”
So to the foredeck they ran with a bullet proof plan
That they thought couldn’t possibly fail,
(yeah right)
That they thought couldn’t possibly fail.
After ten days at sea with not much to see
Except water, some birds and a whale,
Came the night of bewitching that had us a twitching
Should ghosts appear from the sails.
So we carved out a squash with a devilish face
All lit up what a haunting sight,
It sat on the cuddy our vegetable buddy
And guided us through the night,
The night,
And guided us through the night.
Now four days have passed since the last verse was penned
And things are not looking so good,
The heavens have opened, the temperature dropped
And the wind is not doing what it should!
Still there’s a long way to go and we are not feeling down
In fact quite the reverse if you please,
We have cranked up the tunes and are enjoying a dance
To the delectable sounds of cheese,
Of cheese,
To the delectable sounds of cheese!
Keep on smiling J

I知 gonna be the crew who wakes up next to you
when I go out

I知 gonna be the crew who goes along with you
and if I get drunk
yes I know I知 gonna be,
I知 gonna be the crew who gets drunk next to you
and if I haver
(whatever that means)
I知 gonna be the crew who’s havering to you
but I would sail 500 miles
and I would sail 500 more
to be the crew
who sailed a thousand miles
to fall down on the floor
when I知 crewin’
yeah I know I知 gonna be
im gonna be the crew who’s crewin’ hard for you
and when my money
comes before the work I do
I値l pass almost every penny onto you
when I come home
yeah I know I知 gonna be
I知 gonna be the crew who comes back home for you
and if I grow old
yeah I know I知 gonna be
I知 gonna be the crew who痴 growing old with you
and I would sail 500 miles
and I would sail 500 more
to be the crew
who sailed a thousand miles
to fall down on the floor
surrender
surrender
when I知 lonely
yes I know I知 gonna be
Im gonna be the crew who’s lonely without you
when I知 dreaming
yes I know I知 gonna be
I知 gonna dream about the time when I知 with you
and when I get drunk
yeah I know I知 gonna be
I知 gonna be the crew who gets drunk next to you
and if I haver
I知 gonna be the crew who havers next to you
and I would sail 500 miles
and I would sail 500 more
to be the crew
who sailed a thousand miles
to fall down on the floor
surrender
surrender
when I知 lonely
yeah I知 know I知 gonna be
I知 gonna be the crew who’s lonely without you
I知 gonna be the crew who’s coming home....
cuz I would sail 500 miles
and I would sail 500 more
to be the crew
who sailed a thousand miles
to fall down on the floor
surrender
surrender
surrender
surrender.....

Said the owl to the pussy cat scoot along south,
If you値l pardon my mouth
to the three and five degree.
Where the wind is so keen and the waves grow like Jack痴 bean,
So a Kookaburra knots at fourteen.

The isolation must be getting to you all and sending you slightly bonkers!
It is great to know that you are all keeping your spirits up, and hopefully you will make up ground on the leaders over the rest of the way to Durban.
Good luck to you all, and we are still watching your progress a thousand times a day.
Go Doug and the all on the Black Pearl ‘aaarrrggghhh’

To Hannah and crew.
Go Glasgow go, you can do it. You really can.

What’s interesting is that at the half-way stage there are less than 120 miles between the first 5 boats. Let’s hope that you can bewitch the others when the winds switch again.
13. Lorna & Jon Darke, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan 06 November 2007
Hi to Hannah and the Black Pearl - all the blogs are great - what a poetic bunch of supporters for Glasgow! Over halfway and still a very close race - know you all must be shattered but your spirits are obviously high. Dig deep (easy for us to say back home!), you are doing so well we’re sure that you can chase the leaders down and get a podium place. Good luck to you all and hug for Siany - now GO GET ‘EM!!

16. John Diffenthal, Sandhurst, Berkshire, UK 07 November 2007
Go Glasgow. The mid-day report shows you as being the fastest in the fleet by some margin. It’s still really close. Not far to the Horn and then anything can happen.
17. Brian & Dru, Peterborough 07 November 2007
Tho you’re now down under do try keeping those sails aloft!! Hope there were no other casualties. Most impressed with the poets - reckon there should be a prize at the end for the best one of the whole fleet, but to wee Sue - Rabbie Burns wud be proud o ye!
18. kevin murphy, dublin 07 November 2007
