Hull City aren’t the only ones to be promoted
01 June 2008
Well……. This is my third race and I’ve now been promoted to deputy skipper, my new daily routine is to check the radar screen and positions of the rest of the fleet. I also take the bearings of the other yachts to check on our position. I am chief fish spotter and our best catch has been a Barracuda. I get cups of tea made for me and a pot noodle at 3 am to keep me going whilst Danny (head skipper) is in bed asleep.
The bonuses of being deputy are that I get daily back massages, sun creamed and a barber’s shave.
My professional opinion on the race so far is that we are getting there, but slowly and we are trying our best to win.
We eagerly await 1900 hours (boat time) when our final position will be confirmed, in the mean time, we keep on pushing on.
Brendan (Deputy Skipper)
PS. I like to say hi to my family, all my mates back in Hull and all my fans!

Hi Brendan (or is that deputy skipper),
Just a quick question - did you finish 8th in the last race because of your promotion? Ha Ha. No glad you seem to still be enjoying yourself, what with free back massages and being sun creamed. Enjoy your last race and we will see you next week!
David and all at the YPSS.
