On the wet road again

Hull & Humber's Sonny with the D250 trophy

Joining in Halifax and taking part in the democracy 250 race was an amazing experience. Took me a day or so to get my sea legs as it was really rough weather, we managed to win with only a minute between us and westernaustrlia2011.com, I felt proud to be part of the crew once again on ye old wet road.

It’s currently day four on the way to Cork, so far it has been a long process of trying to catch wind for the past few days. Working our way through thick fog has been very difficult especially in such light winds; keeping a good look out for other vessels, icebergs and anything else which we may hit into. Everyone has also been working hard to keep the yacht moving as much as possible to keep up with the rest of the fleet.

Early this morning the fog had lifted and the wind came in quite nicely. Ever since then we have been travelling with 8 knots of speed and the crew are glad to be moving at last.

The girls have been writing a song about Konrad the cameraman who lives in a caravan which kept us all amused for an hour.

It feels great getting back on Hull & Humber, as the last time I was on board was the delivery back to Gosport after the Wilberforce race, which seems such a long time ago now, just hope we can bring her home in first place, because the crew have worked tremendously well and really do deserve it.
