Wake up to bacon butties - 19 September 2007

19 September 2007

HH sunset sailing

We woke up this morning all looking forward to fresh croissants and pastries, but unfortunately we have had to make do with bacon butties! (a special treat from Fiona and Andy on mother watch).
Sam has taken the last working speaker out of the saloon and installed it on deck, so now the tunes are pumpin (roll on the new speakers arriving in La Rochelle)!
Fred has been water skiing off the back of the yacht this morning and a few games of eye spy filled a few more minutes!
Benjy bear our mascot from Belle Vale Primary school had his first lesson in winch use and helming! Pictures to follow…
As the finish line comes in to sight, everyone is starting to get a little frustrated as the wind has dropped and it’s going to take some time to reach it.  We are continually trying everything we can to make the yacht go faster and have finally, just managed to get the Spinnaker up! Fingers crossed we will make it over the finish line in first place and into La Rochelle this evening.  Only 18 miles to go…….

Guys, what a fantastic job, well done !!  Two wins out of two races ain’t half bad. As many others I am sure, I am glued to your progress aboard the big orange boat and want to send you all many, many congratulations. I hankered after a big ocean adventure myself once and now have another challenge of expecting twins in January, I’m thinking if you keep up this winning streak I might have to call them Hull and Humber in your honour. Enjoy the beers and the burgers and just keep doing what your doing, your winners all the way.
