Back In The Saddle

Or back behind the wheel, or on the grinder, or on the bow.

Firstly, thank you so much to the city of Salvador and the region of Bahia for the fantastic reception they gave us. The marina facilities were completely refurbished for us, to the extent that some of us didn’t even bother getting a hotel! The city’s a beautiful juxtaposition of faded grandeur and modern building, and the people (barring the usual beggars and tat-sellers) are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Much as we enjoyed our stay, everyone’s delighted to be back on the water. The wind in our hair, the sun on our back, the spray down our neck - everyone’s got big grins on. We kicked off in style by being first across the starting line, which prompted much yeeha-ing and singing of Bonanza, and we’re now steaming south to go and catch some good weather to whip us over to Africa.

Finally, more thank yous - to the race team, media team and everyone else at Clipper Ventures. They worked their bottoms off in Salvador and will be doing so for the next nine months so that we can sail around having a nice time. Cheers all!

Hope all’s going well guys, looks like it is from here!!! Wish I was still with you all, can’t believe how much im missing you & really pleased to see that the Yeeha-ing and Bonanza tradition has been carried on in my absence
