Trying to head south…
30 October 2007
On Sunday evening, the wind started to change direction taking us East. To counteract this, we gybed with the spinnaker. But, we were still going in exactly the same direction - East! We were in the middle of a weather system bringing with it very sudden, cold, heavy rain. We brought down the spinnaker, put up the head sails and sat out the squall. After a short while we were again going south as planned but with a cold and very wet crew. Below decks, Paul, Len, Dave and Kate wrapped the spinnaker in record time as it was likely that it would need to go up again immediately.
Monday morning brought calm seas, sunshine and very little wind - could we really be sailing across the South Atlantic?
We anticipate continuing going south/south east for a few more days and are gearing ourselves up for a fast and furious phase crossing over to the South African coast.

We agree with you. Your positioning puts Nova Scotia in a better than most trajectory to South Africa. Hears hoping the winds & seas role our way.
