Legends of the Lady Qing
08 April 2008
As the Lady Qing carries on her adventure across the Pacific, after a bit of a bish bash bosh by the maintenance crew in Hawaii, her crew have realized they may have over indulged themselves on the food and Mai Tais. Some of the crew have decided on the ‘better out than in’ technique for getting over the indulgence, which has made interesting viewing for the skipper whilst he looks on.
It also appears that we have made some legends on our Lady Qing. The surf legends Gary, Neil and Nicole (who is sporting some large surf bruises) are all eager to jump back on their boards and were tempted to bring out the stowaway boards but the Badger would have been out of his set in a flash. Neil was heard to say he could even surf using the floor boards in our saloon! I also have been made a legend for my apparent Hawaiian dancing skills. I would like to say that it was a one off appearance and that Greg from the maintenance crew owes me, as he was supposed to join me as well.
On a happier note, we celebrated two birthdays yesterday, Ant and Teddy’s. We celebrated in style with fireworks (well we would have, but the Badger would have been slightly peeved if we let off the flares). We swiftly brought out the presents and birthday cakes whilst singing happy birthday as loudly as we could (although slightly out of tune) before then gorging on the cake, except for those whose stomachs were having minor disagreements with themselves.

Aloha to my friends from the Quingdao. Glad to hear that my buddy Jesse managed to leave a lasting impression with his MaiTais. Sorry I missed your departure and wish you much success with your en devour across the Pacific. Watch for the big swells and hope that I see your pictures in the latest surf mags piloting your floor boards down the faces of some monster bombs. Keep you toes on the nose, don’t drop in and get shacked in the barrel.
A hui hou,
Mark
