QD Leg1 Race2 Day1 070923

22/09/07

A big thank you to La Rochelle for the much needed R &R not just for the crews but for the boats as well. The race to La Rochelle was exciting and over taking Singapore in the last moments of the race was pure elation, giving us sixth place. The morale of our crew is high and we have all pulled together and have become an awesome Slam-Glam unit,

And looking forward to the next race to Brazil.

Race day has arrived and we are hungry to get going, the day could not have started better

We celebrated Christian Lambe’s birthday by having a mid-morning picnic and lots of cake after which we readied for the off.

We slipped our lines and motored towards the start line with Slam and Glam ready and in their positions, and we are off. What an adrenalin rush it was as Western Australia bore down on us as we rounded one of the marks I glanced over my left shoulder and found myself looking at the whites of their bowman’s eye’s, none the less we held our ground and took the start line in first place. WHOYAH.

We are now racing towards Brazil crossing the Bay of Biscay and having a great time riding the waves, The crew are in high spirits and are looking forward to racing accross th Atlantic and having a few cheeky halfs of ice cold beer in Brazil.
