The working week

Climb Qingdao's mast? No problem

To all of our world wide audience, a very warm hello from all on board.

We are now into the second week of our adventure towards Indonesia and Singapore the leggers (myself included) have now settled into the Lady Qing way. The way so far this week is:

Work – keeping the good lady going at the best possible speed, even though the wind guru seems to have gone to sleep on the job and sent the wind east instead of west.
Eat – this is proving to be much better than expected – it is amazing what people can come up with when they try, from very basic ingredients. The chocolate treats are now getting tricky to eat.
Sleep – this is now easy to do even with all the things going on around you.
Sweat – as the temperature rises and the wind decreases you can guess the rest.

Life on board is good, morale is high and the banter between the watches continues. As the newbies settle in and characters develop I am sure that it will become more boisterous. There are those of us who have not done the Equator crossing that are hoping the others don’t come up with anything too nasty.

I am sure you are all as disappointed as we are in our position, but we have sailed well and when the wind guru wakes up and realizes what he has done he will be gutted too.

It ain’t over yet.

Keep up the keen interest and we appreciate your support and best wishes.

Angie

Thanks for the update Sis.  You don’t know how excited that made two people in England: I got a phone call from Mother!!!

I am so pleased that your own spirits are good even though the one governing the wind is elsewhere.

Chin up, hang on to your hats.

Hi Crewmates

You might be last at the moment but you are at the forefront of my thoughts. I notice from the few photos on the site that you all seem to be shrinking and that now Graham aka “Cal” has joined you he is monkeying about the rigging and still making you all laugh. Save a few jokes for me to enjoy when I join. A belated Happy New Year to “The Badger” and his cubs.

Angie and Crew,
Come on Qingdao… Wake up Wind Guru!
Like Craig from North Wales we are now torn between Quindao and Glasgow (The Paul Myers factor).
Maybe for the next leg you could arrange to cross the winning line together?
Wishing you Good Luck and speed always.

It seems as though friends and relatives of the crew become very quiet when the Lady is not amongst the first five boats......  being neither of the two, i’d like to say hello and happy new year to the crew of Lady Quing.  Hope you are having a good time and the winds will change to your favour sooner than later!  Angie, there is no reason to be disappointed about Lady Quing’s position, I’m sure you are all working hard and isn’t that life, win some lose some.  Just make sure you have fun along the way and enjoy the experience.  Keep safe everyone xx
