Uniquely Singapore's Din and Lih Shiun raise the Singapore YC ensign entering Marina at Keppel Bay

One week has passed by, so quickly. Now we’re between Vietnam and Philippines. I think this is another lesson of mine that’s just come to me (very amazed that I didn’t get seasick). We’re doing upwind sailing, so the boat is always hit the waves all the times. We have to change sails quite often to gain more speed or fit for the wind speed, tack so many times when the wind change the direction.

Then the mother watch has come to my turn. I think that’s a very hard mother watch while we’re sailing like this. Cooking under the unstable floor is a really hard job (something that made me a bit annoyed), I have to lean to the stove while cooking, lean to the sink while washing dishes. By the way, “Hard work made hard man.”

After the mother watch finished (just like the race finish) I feel very tired. But the bad thing is I cannot sleep at all. When I got up to go on watch I have no tired feeling, because we are always in the good position during the race (from 7th to 3rd) and I’ve got a very good team partners, the Uniquely Singapore team.

Go go!!!

Hey Din! Wow, your “Hard work made hard man” remark really says it all. It is through challenges that we grow, learn and be a better person. Nothing great can be achieved without hard work.

Everyday as I keep track of our standing and read the crew blogs, I feel more and more proud of the crew and truly honoured to have had a chance to spend time with everyone on Uniquely Singapore and be a part of you.

I love you guys!
