westernaustralia2011.com's Sharon in Business class

I must admit, life on board is not that horrendous.  We have an incredible community here, with a very colourful array of humour and different tempos of laughter.  I’m not wet, cold and hungry or come to think of it, sick as a dog, as I have been.  I boarded in Hawaii with a little nasty weather, certainly did not believe there could be any recovery.  My stomach and brain have both come round and found yet another life! Okay, life for fifteen people in approx 50 sq m of living space! Got the picture? We’ve got everything, except a bloody fishing line!

Business class (more commonly known as crew accommodation) consists of 14 bunks, surrounded by sails to scramble and stumble over, lee cloth and hoist to prevent broken limbs, main hatch for immediate escape when it’s gruesome and also dropping and lifting all sails. Bunks are surrounded by nooks and crannies to lose anything of value and let’s not forget, the shower curtains for wave dumping protection!

The saloon is where it all happens, dvd’s, books, goss, show n tell, and of course dining from the much organised galley that produces some of the finest cuisine with little or no fresh produce. Creativity abound.  Our office within the Navigation room can, I imagine seat 6 people, but 2 is cosy and the entirety is there at arms reach. There are of course 1st class quarters, where Skip and entourage bunk down, when they get a chance.  Port side houses the wet locker for outer layer oilies and other very smelly bits and lest we forget our heads, or bathrooms where one can build muscle mass from pumping on every visit.

Oh no skip, not going back to Midway again - 1800 hours on the 5th May position updates showing -31 ! if its Gooney birds you’re after may I suggest Acapulco instead, some nice bronze birds there I am told.
Are there any Aussie subs in the area that can give you a discrete tow - Father-in-law may have some contacts! otherwise a couple of dolphins may help.
So keep at it all you crew onboard the BBB, love from the Silks in Kent

This is about the third message I´ve sent to you but none of them seem to have been published, I think they think I´m littering the blog!
