The sponsorship of this year’s Glasgow:Scotland with style Clipper is to profile the city and its sporting credentials. The city’s fourth entry in the race will continue to act as an ambassador for Glasgow and promote the city around the world.

Whose bright idea was this?
06 May 2008
What senior moment convinced a non-sailor like me that I could do this? Those were the initial thoughts that first day on board as I struggled to remember the Clipper training all those months ago. Much, much later that same day with the spinnaker severely screwed up around the forestay…

Lisa Duffin
Age 30, Supply Chain Consultant
Lisa, a supply chain consultant from Coleraine, Northern Ireland, now living in London, is taking a sabbatical from her job to compete as a round the worlder. She had always seen sailing as a social thing before. “This is something else again. I’m not just doing it in the hope of winning, I’m doing it for the personal challenge,” she explains.
She has strong connections with the city she is representing on the race having studied for a business management degree at Glasgow University during which time she was a Scout leader with the 1st Glasgow troop in the West End, so she is really pleased to be a member of the crew on Glasgow: Scotland with style Clipper.
