Clipper 07-08 will depart from the host port of Liverpool on 16 September 2007. The boats will cover 35,000 miles and stop at international ports en route, before returning to Liverpool on 5 July 2008 when the city will begin celebrating its status as the European Capital of Culture. This will be the fourth time a boat from Liverpool has taken part in the race.

Lisa Pover
Age 26, Hackney Taxi Driver
Lisa won her place on a leg of the race in a competition run by Liverpool Culture Company and since completing her Clipper training she has worked tirelessly to raise sponsorship to compete on more of the race. Now the hackney cab driver from Liverpool, who had only ever spent a few hours on a catamaran before launching herself into the Clipper experience with a vengeance, will be taking part on five of the seven legs.
She’s ecstatic. “I’m really excited about this whole experience, I was just driving a cab a few months ago, now I’m gonna be sailing across the Pacific, Christmas in Oz… I’m waiting for the catch!”
