PSP Logistics has finished Race 5 and arrived in Sydney, Australia to complete the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.

The yacht, skippered by Sydney-based skipper Chris Hollis, crossed the finish line at 1204 UTC (2304 local time) before heading into the CYCA at Rushcutters Bay.

With an Australian skipper and 15 Australians on board in the race from Albany, Western Australia to Sydney, a large group of supporters were waiting on the pontoon to welcome the yacht in.

“It was a frustrating race as we were right at the back from the start after we left late. But we still raced the whole time even though we couldn’t see the other boats, which was a challenge,” explained skipper Chris upon arrival.

“Sailing into Sydney Harbour after racing half way round the world was emotional, and Sydney always looks so beautiful at night. There was a cheer as we crossed the finish line with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge in sight.

“For myself and the other Sydney-based crew, sailing into our home-port after everything we have seen is a real achievement.”
