Switzerland, Mission Performance and Invest Africa are all due into Rio today for as well-earned rest after 31 days at sea.

Team Garmin arrived at 0300 local time after celebrating skipper Damian Parnham’s birthday yesterday.

Matt Mitchell, skipper of Mission Performance, describes the ups and downs of Leg 1 with 82 miles to go until the finish in Rio. "It's been a rollercoaster of a ride with being right at the head of the fleet, to right at the back after the Doldrums. We've seen all sorts of weather ranging from 50 knot squalls to nearly two weeks of being totally becalmed. The crew have done an exceptional job and the support from our sponsors,Mission Performance, has been great. A big thank you to everybody!"

Tomorrow will see Qingdao round the world crew member and restaurant owner and chef Lawrence Lingard take part in a cook off with a Brazilian chef. There will also be a regatta for Mission Performance and a networking event hosted by GREAT Britain.
