The ninth edition of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race will depart the UK on Sunday 1 September 2013. That’s in just 128 days from today!
We’ve been able to finalise the date as Leg 1 port contracts are now being finalised and more details should be available by Crew Allocation day, at Portsmouth Guildhall on 11 May.
“The location will be announced in late May,” said Clipper Race Director Justin Taylor. “It is a very exciting new host for the race in the south of the UK and will not disappoint.
“Crew can now mark the date in their diaries. The countdown has started.”
The start of the Clipper 13-14 Race positions the event as the world leader in its class: twelve new Clipper 70s will form the world’s biggest matched fleet of large ocean racers; plus the longest at 40,000 miles.
Bring it on!
