There are only two days left to enter to win the chance of taking to the high seas to compete in the final leg of the race on board with the Old Pulteney team in the Old Pulteney Ultimate Sailing Experience.
The nationwide competition closes on 31 January. The winner will be announced at the end of February and will join the 20-strong crew in June 2014 for the final leg of the race. Setting sail from New York, they will clock up nearly 4,000 miles before arriving in London to a hero’s welcome.
This week, the Single Malt Whisky Company has installed Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport’s first branded sampling bar to celebrate its connections with The Netherlands and bring the ‘maritime malt’ to life for global travellers within Lounge 1 for two months until 28 February.
Created to showcase Old Pulteney’s award-winning Lighthouse Collection of single malt travel retail exclusive expressions, the installation celebrates the brand’s unique maritime roots and its exciting year-long partnership with the race. The freestanding airport display is designed to give customers the impression that they are looking out at a vast ocean from the deck of Old Pulteney by a variety of graphics and props including projected movie footage from the current race.
To enter the competition
Look out for promotional bottles of Old Pulteney 12 Year Old which contain a unique competition entry code that must be entered online via www.clipper-oldpulteney.com/competition . A shortlist of entrants will be selected by Old Pulteney in early February and asked to complete a full Clipper Race application form. Five finalists will then be selected and invited to attend a group interview session with sailing experts from the Clipper Race. No prior sailing experience is required as full training will be provided.
