As the fleet arrives into Cape Town today, the last 24 hours has seen some very competitive racing where every fraction of a knot can make the difference. Invest Africa struggled to maintain its second place and was passed by Henri Lloyd enjoying faster sailing further south.
Leading skipper Simon Talbot reported: “By this stage of the race it can be hard to maintain focus as we have all been running at 100% for nearly 14 days now and the home straight can feel like such a long road despite its physical length.”
The effort was rewarded with a well earned win this morning and Henri Lloyd consolidated their lead over Invest Africa by finishing second. The remainder of the fleet battle it out for vital points.
