Since Clipper 2002, Henri Lloyd has been the Fleet Sponsor and Official Technical Clothing Partner of the Clipper Race and is expanding its involvement to become a Team Sponsor. Showcasing its product range to the non-professional sailing world and increasing awareness of both its marine and lifestyle clothing to a global audience.
For the first time Henri Lloyd will sponsor a team in the Clipper 2013-14 Race, as well as the 670 Clipper Race crew being kitted out in the latest GORE-TEX® Ocean Racing technology from Henri Lloyd, becoming ambassadors for the brand both on and off the water. In addition to providing a ‘Basics’ package to all crew, Henri Lloyd promotes an ‘Extras’ range of thermals and accessories to drive additional sales. At the race start and finish, Henri Lloyd promotes its association via a retail outlet in the race village selling Clipper Race branded clothing to supporters and fans.
During this time, the Clipper Race has more than played its part in Henri Lloyd’s successful campaign o transcend the professional and non-professional sailing worlds, showcasing its innovative technical marine clothing to a global audience. As well as celebrating its 11th year as Official Technical Clothing Partner to the Clipper Race, 2013 will mark Henri Lloyd’s 50th anniversary as a British Sailing Heritage brand.
Since the partnership began in 2002, Henri Lloyd has opened over 30 international stores in mainland Europe, Middle East, Russia and Australia, launched a seasonal lifestyle range for both men and women and is the choice of modern champions such as Quadruple Olympic Gold Medalist Sir Ben Ainslie CBE.
