Introduction
The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race offers a versatile partnership programme with 18 months exposure to a cumulative media audience of more than a billion people.
It is a bespoke promotional platform that can be customised to become as exclusive as your brand and tailored to match your individual business objectives.
Twelve identical yachts complete over 40,000 miles of exhilarating ocean racing; delivering a powerful mix of compelling media stories, combined with a range of business, government and consumer engagement channels and a rich variety of corporate social responsibility opportunities.
The next edition of the Clipper Race starts summer 2013.
Opportunities
A variety of partnership packages are available which are designed to meet a broad spectrum of objectives and each one can be tailored to suit individual requirements. The associated rights provide outstanding brand exposure and stakeholder engagement opportunities, with further impact achieved through a range of multi-channel media from digital and social networking to traditional broadcast and print coverage.
Be the Title Sponsor
This is the highest level of sponsorship and allows a business or destination to be named within the race title, giving synonymous association with the Clipper Race brand at all points of communication.
Be a Team Sponsor - Sponsor a yacht
Branded yachts not only provide a prominent floating billboard but also create a focal point for global activation and exclusive access to Clipper Race business events and in-port sailing.
Each of the 12 yacht entries has a Team Sponsor giving a business or destination the opportunity to name and brand one of the Clipper 70s and use it as an international floating billboard to promote trade, business, employee engagement, tourism and/or cultural links. In addition, the crew become ambassadors for their Team Sponsor and help them to promote key messages in all the ports of call, at networking events and sailing days. A Team Sponsor is also often a Host Port Sponsor.
Be a Host Port
The Clipper Race visits approximately 15 ports over a 12 month period. The route is shaped by Host Port Sponsors– in the majority as part of a Team Sponsorship yacht entry - which invest in the event to showcase their destination on a global platform and benefit from the significant economic impact that a stopover brings to the region.
Be a Fleet Sponsor
Fleet Sponsors are multinational brands or organisations that choose to benefit from exposure across the whole race fleet. A Fleet Sponsor has exclusivity within its product category to align itself with the race and promote its product/services to crew, other sponsors, media and the global race audience.
Be an Official Supplier
The Clipper Race partners with a number of Official Suppliers on a partial commercial/partial sponsorship or value in kind basis. The partners supply specific goods or services either on a complimentary basis or at a heavily discounted rate in return for rights of association with the Clipper Race brand.

The Clipper Race fleet provides sponsors with the world’s largest sailing hospitality platform on matched ocean racing yachts, simultaneously allowing up to 144 guests to get a hands-on experience of racing these powerful ocean racers.
