Team Sponsor PSP Logistics is passionate about the marine industry and the sport of sailing.
The company is also the Official Logistics Partner for this race and has handled logistics for the race for the previous two events as well as being a consultant to the America’s Cup.
PSP is best known within the marine industry for its specialism in boat transportation and race logistics, being trusted by some of the biggest brands, including Sunseeker and Fairline, to transport their precious yachts and motorboats around the world.
However, its expertise stretches much wider than this one sector and what sets it apart from competitors is that it specialises in the tough arena of ‘project logistics’. Whether it’s moving an entire race village across the Atlantic or piggybacking containers full of equipment across the world for 18 months, no project is too big or too complex for PSP.
It’s this willingness to grab a challenge with both hands that makes PSP the perfect partner for race logistics and the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
The skipper for team PSP is Chris Hollis and the logistics company says that it was the perfect match. “Chris Hollis shares our passion for sailing and, like us, is keen to introduce new people to the sport,” says PSP Managing Director Frank Dixie. “It’s something we focused on during the last race when we had a brand ambassador taking part.”
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Panama Canal, in this year’s event the leg from San Francisco to Panama will be called the ‘PSP Logistics Challenge’ and the winning team will be awarded the PSP Logistics trophy.
I love racing, I’m extremely passionate about it and love being on the water the in general and getting other people excited about sailing.
