Our luck ran out with the wind today. After 26 kite hoists/drops and numerous trips to the sail hospital, we unfortunately sailed into a wind hole. Not all bad though. We made the most of our mini holiday. The sun was shining, tunes were banging, and the crew was enjoying the solitude of bobbing around – no land in sight. We almost forgot we were racing.

We had a booby bird (yes that is what it is called) land on the bowsprite and enjoyed the 3 knot cruise. Two hours later, the ship resembled a laundry room as we all caught up on our washing. Some even took a trip to the hairdresser (i.e. head over a bucket of water). Everyone smelt lovely, lovely still being a relative term.

After hours of sailing still, my watch leader, Chris, stuck it out on the helm, trying everything in his powers to make the boat move and we eventually found that elusive wind and were off racing again. Party over, game on.

All is well on the good ship GoToBermuda.

And on a personal note, sending my love to Paul, Holly, James and Team Lifton.
