One door closes for another to open...

I do apologies in advance to all the HotelPlanner.com supporters that have to read about the Greenings event again – but luckily there are only six of us, so you'll only have to read about it six times :)

As part of my first Greenings blog, I wrote about the amazing rollercoaster ride experience focusing on the highs, the thrills and the excitement. Unfortunately this roller coaster ride hit an ultimate low for us. Yet it is still experience that 18 of us will never forget. Obviously.

Looking back, even the low was filled with thrills and excitement, with Skipper Andy ensuring that all of us were safe and looked after. My mind was in two places when we received an invitation to join HotelPlanner.com, Skipper Andy took one look at me and said, "Just do it, you know you want to!"

So thank you Andy, because here I am sailing to Fremantle (in the right direction!) and I'm absolutely loving the personalities on the boat.

There are so many positives to write about including the fact that I finally get to sail with Conall after completing my Level 1 training with him, I get to be assistant watch leader with Mike who has amazing leadership skills to learn from. I get to know so many more people that are part of the Clipper Race family, and I get to share salvaged chocolate with my watch during silly hours to get through the cold nights.

I miss my lovely friends from Greenings yet I'm very greateful for the opportunity to race across the Southern Ocean with like minded people on a 70 foot yacht – ultimately the reason I signed up for the race in the first place.
