A big hello to all Imagine your Korea followers. It’s been a mixed six days of wind with some fun and fast sailing punctuated by two wind holes where both sailing and sleep are very challenging. The highlight of the first wind hole was Josh (Skipper of Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam) organising an impromptu pirates quiz on the radio amongst close-by boats. One of the questions was about a brand of rum, and I have to say the thought of a cold rum and coke sitting in Bermuda is extremely appealing, as well as catching up with some dear friends who live on the island.

Yesterday was Mother Watch, on my own as we are one crew short. It was fun to create some different dishes to try and delight fellow crew. The salmon fish cakes and the fresh pineapple and orange dessert with drizzled hot chocolate sauce seemed to be the main winners. Our main chocoholic, Fran, took responsibility for cleaning the saucepan with the chocolate sauce in her own way! The accompanying Mother Watch quiz was to name the fifth largest Caribbean country by population and it seemed very appropriate given we were sailing past the largest, Cuba, at that time. No winners as both watches gambled with Starboard Watch opting for Trinidad and Tobago which is sixth. No one seemed to consider Puerto Rico which is fifth and so we have a tie break today on the population of our next destination, Bermuda. It seems that the two benefits of a Mother Watch is that you get an uninterrupted night's sleep and a boat wash at the back of the boat. The latter is a joy as you douse yourself in refreshing sea water and wash yourself. It is a tad challenging as you have your life jacket on and it's both dark and bouncy as we are racing but it is well worth the effort, particularly as you finish off with some fresh water (courtesy of on board JoJo delivery service) to clean your hair.

Currently our boat speed is not as strong as we would all like and it would seem that we have a challenging few racing days ahead, but hopefully we can all continue to maintain good humour and morale. As I write this Gill breaks into an impromptu music rap as her and Fran prepare the wraps for lunch. This time next week, Gabrielle, get the Chablis in the fridge! Love to all.
