Well hello readers from a rather calm Imagine your Korea! Safe to say we all had a fantastic time in Bermuda, many Dark & Stormys were consumed, proper downtime for everyone even though there was a lot on from sail repair, to boat tours!

A great first few days on board, pretty much every single weather pattern possible and it's all rather calm now and an amazing evening on deck, so I’m taking the opportunity to write this blog on deck whilst we have tunes playing and the sun setting. Evenings don’t get much better than this – if Carlsberg made ideal nights...

We are currently in second position and the mood on board is great, with lots of laughter, chatting with our new crew members as everyone is getting to know each other. The boat is a lot busier than Leg 7, so the galley ballet is proving a little harder but we’re all laughing as we’re bumping into each other!

So what’s been happening on board Imagine your Korea? Race Start was rather awesome. Rob was leading the Le Mans Start, which meant he was focused on keeping all of the boats in a line (harder than it sounds). Before we went into the start sequence we did a practise hoist which wasn’t our finest (pesky sail ties) and we hadn’t yet got into the groove with the new team members, so JB & Rob decided it was best if JB was on hand to help and I was asked to helm Race Start. EEEEK! Not sure I’ve stopped buzzing yet. When Rob finally got everyone into a line he called start and we executed a pretty slick hoist, we had WTC Logistics to our port and Qingdao to their port. Chris was trying to push WTC Logistics up, and I had to hold course and then somehow we were pulling away from WTC Logistics (sorry Dan) and we were off and into the darkening grey skies.

A fantastic first few hours of racing, tacking, trying to figure out if we could hold course on boats or if we needed to duck (go round the back of them). Whilst the race start line is a lot bigger than I’m used to, getting that opportunity and experience is phenomenal and will hopefully help my racing back home. Unfortunately the sea state was pretty lumpy, so a handful of us came down with the dreaded green monster, one pretty badly, but pleased to report with a calmer sea state everyone's sea legs seem to have been gained.

Today's sterling galley effort was led by Jamie & Rob – dark chocolate sauce on fresh fruit, yum yum yum. Despite Jamie's concerns, he’s knocked up a couple of awesome loaves of bread for tomorrow’s watch. Apparently we’ve got to do stuff on deck now involving flappy things, so I guess that’s it from IYK. Love to all friends, family & supporters who are letting us all do this crazy thing – we couldn’t do it without your support. Keep smiling, JoJo
