Branston Pickle

As Race 2 starts I am positioned in the cockpit operating the port side staysail sheet. The brilliant Scouse/Aussie (how does that work?) Jo has the starboard side. Great start line tactics from Skipper Mike see us in third place over the start line and off to a flying start. Somehow Jo and I missed the gun (was there a gun??) and we are unsure whether we have actually started or not!

Four hours in and I am down below sorting potatoes, our AQP Sam passes by just as we gybe and a huge catering sized jar of Branston launches itself from the overhead storage cave and smashes into the side of the hull and covers him in the sticky relish. He is obviously unimpressed but pragmatically grabs a couple of packs of mini cheddars and proceeds to scrape every bit of it off himself and the boat consumes it rapidly with some very special Parmesan purchased in Italia at considerable expense by our cigar smoking Italian mega helm – Andrea.
