Well after a fabulous stopover in Derry Londonderry we got back to the boat to complete the race.
The race started in very light winds became quite exhausting as it involved many sail changes, tacks and gybes over about 8 hours. The wind then picked up and in the middle of the night the Windseeker sail got very badly torn and we reverted to yankee and staysail.
The torn Windseeker then caused me a massive problem, as I hate going into the sail at the best of times and this morning I was asked to help Dammo with the Windseeker repair.
For 6 hours we suffered in very lumpy conditiins repairing said sail. A truly bad day for me. Admiration though for Dammo and JW who do this all the time.As we are near race end I think of the people I have sailed with on legs 6, 7 and 8 who have now..left the boat. Ill probably miss a few out (sorry) but in no particular order we have Alex, Abby, Kat, Craig, Graham, Hughes, James, Kate, Kai, Dave, Jens, Pam, and Loic. Good memories with great people.
The race has truly been The Race of Your Life. See you all in Liverpool.
