The Sensory Delights of the Tropics
Well the race is over and we didn't do as well as we hoped, but all so close and very light winds at the end made it a bit of a lottery they say.
We turned around to assist Liverpool 2018 to tow them back to Panama, Nasdaq is here as well taking turns. It was a bit of a blow as we are going to miss a couple of days in Panama to sightsee plus we have that Code 2 Spinnaker still yet to mend.
Anyway we must be somewhere around the Tropic of Cancer and the sun has really taken a blow to me the previous days, suffering from heat and feeling just really crappy. The crew have been great checking on me, but I am now feeling better and enjoying the sensory delights of sailing in the Tropics.
The first to mention of the sensory delights is of course the sweat, there is mild sweat overnight, heavy sweating in the morning and extreme uncomfortable sweating by midday, many have heat rashes. The second being the feeling of dissolving away, hands instantly 'pruning up' to the touch of water and our fingers slowly peeling away. Thirdly is the stench. Sweat comes with sweaty old shirts that there is no desire to change because within 10 mins its a sweaty mess again.
Anyway I best rush off, on mother duty again and the pasta is ready!
Until next time. Hugs and kisses to the kids, Mum is missing you xx
