"The sun is out, the sky is blue, there's nothing there to spoil the view." - Except a wind hole! (Bonus points for anyone who knows who wrote those lyrics and the name of the song). The mighty PSP Logistics is heading for New York as fast as we can trim those sails. Disneyland has been left on our port beam and we are pointing at the Statue of Liberty, well, close by, anyway.
The mood on board is one of positive tension, all efforts focussed on getting there as quick as we can. Alongside that we have greater creativity in the galley. Bread and Cake has reappeared along with the Code 2 Spinnaker, which may get an airing in the near future.
The sail repair team, led by Stian, along with Neil, Nigel H and Fiona have put in the hours to get that ready. I never thought I would hear such lengthy discussions about Bobbin tension. Well done you guys and the others that have lent a hand. We had done taping in Shelter Bay but the sail still needed stitching, not an easy task on these boats. The sewing machine occupies one of the galley benches and the sail is laid down the companion way as it gets attended to.
We have occasionally seen some birds, a contrast to the constantly attendant Boobies that we had in the Pacific and a few Dolphins playing on the bow. It seems emptier out here, but the conditions are glorious. We are fairly level after a few days on the lean and all the sickness is gone. There have been some superb Cumulus Nimbus "Anvil" cloud formations but we have so far dodged the squalls. Probably famous last words. We also saw a Luminescent cloud, which is a rainbow in a cloud. An interesting sight.
On our way North, all the best to everyone out there
