We are now well into the Elliot Brown Ocean Sprint trying to collect the three points available to us. Just a few days back we had a low pass over us where we saw gusts of up to 45 knots. 'Fruity' conditions in which the boat and crew handled themselves wonderfully. Everyone is looking forward to get into Cape Town by the 27th to enjoy the few days of rest we have but above all to immediately spend the 100 pounds Ben won in the photo contest in the nearest bar.

This is my first blog post so I wanted to make just one or two general observations. Having had sailing experience, I pretty much knew what I was getting myself into. The only real incognito for me was the crew dynamics and life aboard. After having spent a few weeks with my fellow crew, it has been a great pleasure to sail with and to get know everyone better as the days go by and I am very much looking forward to spending more time with them through Legs 3 and 4.

Something else that I came to realise as the days go by was how much I miss my family back home. I knew I would miss them but I just did not realise how much. So I will be very happy to see my wife and daughter when I arrive in Cape Town.

Now I must leave as I take off my Crocs but leave my socks on before I go to bed. As we say in Italy, FORZA PSP Logistics.
