Dear all,

I can't believe I’m really here, the last two years made us think it may never happen.

The last few weeks have been the most incredible experience with weeks yet to come.

We have experienced highs and lows due to ‘The Thing’ (mentioned in a previous blog) and wind which sometimes can be your best friend, and sometimes your worst enemy, and speeds to give you the biggest high possible, to wind holes that want to make you cry with Jeronimo and Nano tearing their hair out, so to speak. The whole team is very much one, such lovely people to be sharing the space and adventure with.

We have seen sunrises and sunsets which words could not describe and were treated to a total eclipse of the moon! Wildlife has been varied, if not sparse at times, with birds hitching lifts on a turtle's backs, flying fish, leaping tuna and of course multiple sightings of dolphins gracefully playing alongside us. With very light to no wind over the past few days the water has looked like glass to be walked on with the backdrop of the most beautiful cloud formations – purely spectacular. All these wondrous things plus the excitement of the race - which is the ultimate goal and reason for us sailing in these beautiful waters, has produced a most memorable experience. Thank you to the yellow boat which is totally inclusive due to Jeronimo, with the support of his right hand man Nano. I must also mention junior Jeronimo who apart from his boat skills can now add bread maker to his growing CV (something he was most proud of, as he paraded his freshly baked loaf to all the crew!)

My love to my family who I know will read this and to all my friends who are following.

Linda.
