It seems unbelievable to think that the Clipper 2019-20 Race is finished. It has been so long in the making! My race started in 2017 when I signed up for two legs without telling my family. I thought they would try to talk me out of it, but instead they have been wonderfully supportive and I couldn’t have done this without them. Having them at almost every port has made each stopover such a fun time, thank you from the bottom of my heart and also to all those cheering me and my boat on from home and all over the world! I’m so lucky and proud to have been a part of the Clipper Race, especially as a crew member of Punta del Este. The race has without a doubt been the ‘Race Of My Life’.

I feel it only fitting that (almost) the last word should go to the Commodore and all at the Punta del Este Yacht Club who have been such great sponsors and supporters of our yellow beauty, as she is affectionately known, and her crew.

From Yacht Club Punta del Este:

Our DEAR Punta del Este crew, oh, ooh, oohhhh, hurrah, hurrah, hurrah… almost no words to express this feeling, hope you are conscious of how many people you are making happy, from your relatives, to our Yacht Club, to our city. to yourselves, to former crew… This adventure was an unthinkable one for us, but off we went, a great thought, a small Yacht Club from a small country with a big yellow boat, filled with amazing people that make this journey even better, and for us being on the final podium is proof that dreams are meant to be followed!

And here we are, you are, what you may be feeling, how much joy, how much accomplishment, how much pride, you will go up high on that podium to show the world that with a huge smile.

Thank you Jeronimo, thank you Nano and Ryan for leading this team while taking care of them all and of the yellow beauty!

Thank you SV Punta del Este, CV25 for safely taking all the Punta del Este crew around the world and so fast!

Time to celebrate, see you pretty soon. AHOY!!!

And with that it is goodbye and thank you from all who have sailed on Punta del Este. And as I type the tears have come. All good things come to an end - we’ve had a blast, we fought hard and we have made memories to last a lifetime. God speed until we who have had the privilege to sail together meet again, after we celebrate tomorrow in London!
