Hard to believe we have been at sea for nearly another week. At present our position is at the North West of Mauritania heading for the Cape Verde Islands.

Our race position is unchanged at 8th place, however Zhuhai is slowly catching up on us. The Seattle team is trying to avoid being caught and close up on race position 7 (Imagine your Korea).

The day is pretty much spent on the principle of Sail, Eat, Sleep, Repeat. I used the quiet time during last night's watch to bake some granary bread. It was well received at breakfast.

The last watches have been uneventful, just the way I like them. No spinnaker wraps or any other problems. Helming is still something of a personal challenge, especially with the kite flying permanently. That thing does require respect and quick reactions. Things only get more challenging when the sea state changes and the wind picks up.
