Crew Diary - Race 3 Day 17: Cape Town to Fremantle

One of our round the worlders, the legendary Paul Bidwell, was 59 yesterday and in his honour, we baked a cake. A cafe latte cake mix (we don't do things by halves round here), the cake suffered somewhat in the oven and came out looking so rough we decided to innovate and create a 'Southern Ocean' Clipper Race cake complete with silver and blue waves and 12 Clipper boats fashioned from Mars bars and sails from the remnants of a cuppa soup packet. Whales with blue smarties and a sign pointing to Africa. Paul seemed suitably impressed - was that a little tear we spotted in the corner of your eye; or perhaps you were just missing Sarah, Phoebe and Beau? Happy Birthday Paul!
