Hello our dear and loved supporters.

I hope everything is well with you all wherever you are in the world.

Life here on board Black Betty is mighty fine and morale is high. It could be the other way as arguably not everything is going our way; we have a cold/cough going around. We have spent two days looking for wind and the rest bouncing around the ocean at a 45 degree angle making everything incredibly difficult. A few people have taken a tumble and have bumps and bruises in all sorts of places and we are in eleventh place. Yet despite this the smiles can be seen almost everywhere most of the time.

Jokes and stories are being told, Jazz’s 30th birthday was celebrated in style yesterday and people are enjoying having an on board reporter and smiling for the camera! It’s hard to pinpoint why morale remains so positive. The crew are kind, determined to support each other in every area of life on board. Nobody is longing for it to be over, but rather making the most of every minute. There is a determination to do well. Although we are not in a great position in the fleet at the moment, we know without doubt that can be recovered if we remain focused. And the sun has shone on us every single day! Whatever it is, long may it continue.

Wish us well as we make our way to the front of the fleet.

A special hello to my Mum, I hope you are feeling stronger and as always, love to all my family and amazing friends.

Best wishes to you all and thank you for being such great supporters.
