Champagne sailing

Exhausted from upwind sailing after Race Start in London, the crew went to sleep whilst it was still daylight, and now we are sailing with a speed between 8 and 11 knots, with our spinnaker.

Life on board is getting organised, however, the next stopover is still a long way off, even before we have our South American beef … for dinner. Ana our Portuguese crew is cooking a bacalhau, a fish bought in Portimão, and we had flying fish on the deck this morning, but they were too small for a crew of 22.

The day starts with sun cream, sunglasses, music and at nights with light clothes, homemade cakes, but we share our bunks, it’s like we are on a cruiser boat on the Mediterranean sea!

A lot of words about food, this is a French blog… as an around the world’er, I have had time to discover the difficult conditions and real life outside of comfort zone.

All the crew do the maximum to increase the speed of the boat, all is still possible for Race 2 at this time, we will know more after the doldrums.

This blog is short, as much as the WTC Logistic crew have been patient because of my bad spoken English.

Un petit coucou aux Francophones qui me lisent,
