Fulfilling Your Dreams

The race of your life was the attraction for me,

Sailing the oceans as vast as the eye can see,

On a Clipper Race yacht of amateur Sailors,

A Skipper and an AQP.

With waves so high and winds so strong,

The comradeship that develops as we go along.

People you have never met are watching your back,

Living together on a boat,

With hardly enough room for a rat.

With lack of sleep and tensions high,

And food that Michelin chefs would deny.

In your bunk at night dripping wet,

Dreaming of the life you have left.

I love this life I don’t know why,

Perhaps it’s the sunsets the bird life the dolphins or just the night sky.

Getting around on the puff of breeze.

Or was that a gale we just tamed,

Bring it on yes please.

This Clipper Race is more than sailing it seems,

There’s the people the places,

And fulfilling your dreams
