Hello All - Welcome to the first crew blog of this race. So, finally my sailing adventure has started and all is good. What a great team to be part of. We are a slightly mature crew which I think is a good thing. I have to shout out to Patrick and James as they have the patience of saints with us new joiners and a few who have completed other legs.

Sitting here in the galley as we are in our first wind hole so not that much we can all do. The galley is in full swing preparing yet another delicious lunch. We're happily into our watch system and we see one other Clipper Race boat on the horizon.

The motor out of Seattle supplied us with stunning scenery and time for some additional training before the Le Mans start. We had our Code 2 kite up for most of yesterday until the wind became too strong and I'm pleased to say it is back up but unsure for how long.

All of us but especially the ones from Leg 6 are waiting for the warmer weather to arrive, the further south we go we should all be peeling off our layers. Spending the night watches on deck in just shorts seems like a dream at the moment but we all know it's coming.

Having a smaller crew works well as it means we all have a job to do on deck. My Mother duty could be fun as they have paired two newbies together so fingers crossed. Wildlife spotting is in full swing and having them play with the boat is fun.

More updates to come over the next few weeks to Panama.

Big hug to GB and smash that placement.
