Another Day of light winds

Getting up for the first watch of the day, I peeled myself off my sleeping bag and slid out of the coffin bunk. Standing straight made it pretty obvious that we were still meandering along. Nothing had really changed in the past four hours since I had been up last. It was hot and we were having to jump from wind patch to wind patch. The only difference was that we acquired a new crew member; in the form of a confused land bird. Mid-afternoon, there was a bird overboard call from the deck and we were back to the number of crew we set off with. The wind started to pick up in the evening but it can’t seem to make up its mind on where it’s coming from. Hope it makes it’s mind up sometime soon.
