An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast growing, exciting and high energy department within the Clipper Ventures team. We are looking for someone with a flexible attitude, great team ethic, sound organisational skills, the ability to work alone and stay motivated.
This is a very commercially focused role. The key objective of the Recruitment team is to find, interview and secure over 700 crew members for each edition of the Clipper Race. A sales / revenue generating background would be highly beneficial as you will have challenging targets to meet.
Working with the Recruitment Director and supported by the Brand, Marketing and PR teams, you will be responsible for finding and recruiting crew for the Clipper Race. This will be achieved through direct marketing, advertising and media outlets including, but not limited to, TV, Radio and print/on-line, utilising social media and maximising the potential of new trends in communication as they emerge.
You will need to be confident in organising and giving group presentations and interviewing potential Clipper Crew. Crew could be chief executives, bankers, students, housewives or bus drivers so a flexible and adaptable communication style is key. Having an in-depth knowledge of the Clipper Race is vital.
You will need meticulous organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. You will manage the administration of the process dealing with enquiries, generating applications through to presentation stage, interviews and ultimately following up through to completion. You will need to work collaboratively with both the Crew team and Clipper Training department to ensure that crew progress smoothly through their journey onto the race.
While this is mainly an office based role there will be occasions when travel is required both in the UK and overseas. This could be in the form of self-planned tours of recruitment presentations, attending trade shows and exhibitions, or race stop-overs.
There will be times when working outside of standard office
hours will be the norm.
The role will require you to show a good deal of flexibility and you will be required to display the skills below, which are not exhaustive:
- Advanced and flexible communication skills
- Sales experience (preferable)
- Management/people development or recruitment skills
- Persuasive presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent interviewing techniques both face to face and phone/skype
- Computer skills – standard packages
- E-marketing and social media experience
- Accurate recording and management of data
- Creative generation of new leads/contacts globally
- Sound, detailed knowledge of all aspects of the Clipper Race
