PSP Logistics was the final entry competing in the Clipper 2013-14 Round the World Yacht Race into Qingdao, China today.

PSP Logistics arrived into the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center at 1600 local time as family, friends and Clipper Race supporters lined the quayside eager  to welcome the team to Qingdao’s ‘Sailing City.’

The team was overwhelmed by the support as they made their way up the pontoon where traditional Chinese drummers lined their route to the stage for their official welcome ceremony. Skipper Chris Hollis, said:

“It feels awesome to be here today, a huge relief. This race was definitely an uphill battle for us, and I don’t just mean sailing upwind either. Every single day we had something go wrong, but the way that the crew responded was amazing.

“The welcome into Qingdao has been incredible. We feel like real celebrities; we're all looking forward to a well-deserved break now, regardless of how short it might be”

Frank Dixie, Managing Director, PSP Worldwide Logistics was one of the first people to send his congratulations to the team, "Our magnificent team has finally arrived in Qingdao and one must applaud their resilience and leadership under extremely trying circumstances. They are a credit to the sailing fraternity and are my heroes!"

After taking the stage, the crew was presented with scarves and soft toy horses as skipper Chris Hollis was draped in a red cape, which symbolises nobility; in ancient China it was only worn when emperors and generals returned victorious from battle fields.

In exchange for their gifts, the team presented Madam Lin, the Chairman of Qingdao Sports Federation with her very own team kit making her an honorary PSP Logistics crew member.
