The Clipper Race engages with local community in Punta del Este

Throughout the stopover in Punta del Este, the Clipper Race participated in a number of events and activities to engage the local community, allowing thousands of people in the region to sample a taste of the Clipper Race and all that is involved in it.

Schools Tours

The Clipper Race hosted ten schools from the local area for tours aboard the Clipper Race yachts to show and educate the children about life on board. This provided the opportunity for hundreds of children to have a look around the yachts and learn about sailing and what is involved in navigating the boats through long ocean crossings around the world.

School Visits

Crew members took time out of their busy race preparation schedule to visit schools in Punta del Este and the local region, taking Clipper Race gifts with them for all the children. The schools put on different shows and activities to entertain the crew, a lot of which the crew were able to participate in. The crew also spoke to the children about life with the Clipper Race to offer encouragement and inspiration.

Open Boats

The Clipper Race fleet was open for business throughout the activation window, with thousands of people lining the marina and boarding the Clipper Race yachts for an immersive tour to better understand what life is like at 45-degrees. Seven of the yachts were open to the public and a total of 3,254 people took the opportunity to go onboard.
