The end is near, while we are gunning ourselves to Cape Town on a last drag race to the finish, it is going to be a close one.
Today the wind changed more and more to the south, what made us change from our medium weight spinnaker to our "white sails" – the staysail and Yankee 1. And this morning, the wind veered again a touch and we decided to put the medium weight spinnaker up again, this lasted only a few hours until the wind backed to the south again, that made us change once more. From there on, it will be a guess what we are doing sail wise other then we are making best way to Cape Town, because we are in Stealth Mode. We are probably the last boat in Stealth Mode, but that emphasises the final tactical call, on the way we can see them, but they have no clue where we are in this last stage of the race.
The team of Old Pulteney is fired up and putting themselves forward 110 per cent to get a good result out of this.
We will pop out of Stealth Mode tomorrow at 1800 UTC so keep an eye out for it.
Our estimated arrival time is still Saturday afternoon/night, but we will do our best to make that as early as possible.
Talk to you later, Patrick
