One down, one to race...

With the Dell Latitude Rugged Ocean Sprint number one under our belt but by no means decided, it's far too close to call the positions for first, second and third, we moved swiftly on to sprint number two.

Once again we began the second "race within the race" under the darkness of night. Not without its bit of drama as the recovery line parted and the Code sail flogged as the boats in close proximity took advantage to steal back some easy miles. Not to worry, the Code sail came down early in the few short miles between sprint one and two, so we hit the start line for sprint two running and in race trim.

Since then it's been a constant round of trimming and helming to keep Dare To Lead at the front of the fleet, after all there's the big picture to think of and not just the Ocean Sprints. The whole team have demonstrated a high level of engagement in their race, eagerly encouraged by AQP Al Jay.

The breeze is fading now as we skirt the edge of a forecasted wind hole, he said quietly in the hope it will not fully materialise?! The finish line for Ocean Sprint 2 lies 60 miles to our northeast, a long way in a light breeze, chased by a pack of hungry dogs. I commented in my previous blog that only minutes will separate the winners and losers, correction... it's looking more like seconds than minutes!
