Good Morning all,

Well, another frustrating day. We are all trying to make our way up past Luzon and it is once again very slow going. Looking at the fleet we are all spread trying to find that little bit of wind that can help. The best part is, once we have completed our loop and are coming back we have to come back into this lottery again, and then start the next race through it again... Oh how I love the light airs lottery.

This morning a breeze filled in from the north, and some boats got away. Visit Sanya, China was 500m from us, got away and gained 6 miles, then we did about two hours later, leaving Imagine your Korea and Dare To Lead bobbing, no more than half a mile behind us. The reverse is when you get away and then fall into a hole and watch all your hard earned lead swallowed up by bobbing water, like what happened to us in Race 1 and then Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam in the last race. Such is the joy of light airs and there seems to be plenty of it to go around at the moment.

Keeping the boat moving and motivated is key, but it is a struggle sometimes especially when a yacht moves ahead who is meters away from you and you can't quite reach the wind! So jokes, trim, new ideas, jokes, coffee, trim, and so on and so on. Well, at least you can put your coffee down and it does not fall over, unless a big foot helps it!

Our new watch system! Due to the fact that we only have 11 crew, for this race, we have opted for a two watch system, instead of our normal three watch system. Well it is not going down well with the guys, and almost everyone has come to me to say as soon as our number is up, can we please go back to the three watch system... Something to look forward to, but we make the most of what we have and enjoy as much as we can, being thankful for the light crew in the light airs.

Otherwise we are all well and the green monster has left the boat, for now, and the sea sickness is a thing of the past.

So, with another 90 miles to go until our next mark let’s get back to it.

Cheers
