Ello,

How's it going, all? Firstly I'm sorry my comms ashore to back home was terrible, so sorry to the Bristol lot ,Fred, Chrissie and Dad. If it's any consolation this is meant to be a short race.

Now onto the race. Well, we had an awesome start. We tried what we wanted to do in London, only this time it worked. We were left to our own devices as everyone else played on a starboard tack and we were either first or second over the line! [Editor's note: Third over line] Then it was a simple kite run with a few gybes to Virtual Mark Tuck.

On the way there was one of the best sights we have seen as a crew, all eleven boats with kites up sailing along in 20-30 knots of breeze, it certainly was a sight we won't forget in a hurry... and then, the fun and games began. We watched a pile up (without contact mind), a few cables *(pub quiz question) away and just saw everyone's kites collapse and come to a grinding halt. Then we had all manner of wind strengths and combinations to deal with whilst having to dodge Clipper 70s and small fishing vessels (the fishing boats were compared to eskys / cool boxes if you are from the UK).

So, in a nutshell, we have kind of taken off from where we have left. There are a few more tricky bits of wind (or there lack of) to negotiate and then what this crew aren't really ready for is the 20 to 30 knots of breeze we have to greet us as we turn the corner round luzon. Well hope everyone is well back home.
